Jason Hartman is the statewide Fire Prevention Specialist stationed out of the KFS State Office in Manhattan.  He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Forestry in 2001. In 1999 Jason began working in wildland fire. He holds various national wildland firefighting, structural firefighting and incident management certifications. He works with local fire departments, agencies, and organizations to assist Kansas citizens and communities with increasing knowledge of wildfire hazards through programs such as Smokey Bear and Firewise. Jason also takes a lead role in projects aimed at reducing the risk of wildfire, such as prescribed fire.
