URBAN TREE MANAGEMENT SEMINAR - December 16, 2005
This full day seminar will focus on the principals central to a tree's vitality as well as the important issues, methods and techniques needed to ensure that our community trees thrive.

TREE IDENTIFICATION - Ocboter 4, 2005
Proper tree management begins with the ability to correctly identify what tree specie is observed.  Identification skills are necessary for the correct diagnosis of insect and disease problems and potential for future problems and outbreaks, as well as potential for environmental loss and an understanding of community tree diversity.

HEALTHY ROOTS - September 15, 2005
This one half day workshop will provide basic instructions and training on recognizing the critical function roots play.  Indoor and outdoor instruction will focus on activities geared to maximizing root health for better plant health and vigor.  Hands on training opportunities and demonstrations.

This conference is focused on providing information to small communities to assist them in taking a proactive approach to community forestry.

KANSAS ARBORISTS ASSOCIATION SUMMER FIELD DAY 2005 - June 2, 2005
A diversity of state-of-the-art equipment for arborists will be exhibited by the top companies of our profession.  Company representatives responsible for product design will be on hand, direct from their factories, to demonstrate their equipment and answer your questions.  Specialists from Kansas State University and Kansas Department of Agriculture will provide an update on insect and disease diagnosis and treatment.  Other professionals will make presentations in areas of interest to the professional arborists.  Please take this opportunity to spend a relaxing day with fellow arborists.

COMMUNITY FORESTRY TRAINING - April 6, 2005
This training will offer concurrent sessions in Nuts and Bolts of Tree Care; Tree Production; Selection and Stress Management and Storm Preparedness, Recovery and Management.

TREE PRUNING - February 2005
This training will provide hands on application, discussion, and general overview of proper pruning methods.  The focus of these workshops will be on tree pruning practices and the role pruning plays in the management and maintenance of the community forest.

DETECTION AND PREVENTION OF TREE DEFECTS - November 2004
This training is intended to build upon the training which was offered last November and February.  We will focus on the identification of common tree defects as well as what you can do to prevent these defects from occurring with future plantings.
