The Kansas Forest Service Fire Management Program administers the
Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA)
and
Rural Fire Assistance (RFA) cost share programs. Grant funding is provided
by the US Forest Service and US Fish & Wildlife Service, respectively.
The funding is available to rural fire departments to purchase
firefighting equipment on a matching basis. Grants are evaluated and
distributed based on need since requests for funding far exceed the
amount available.
The Kansas Forest Service also provides scholarships and reimbursements
for training, workshops, or conferences offered through KFS.
Scholarships are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so fill out
your
Scholarship Application PDF early. If you have already attended an
event offered by the Kansas Forest Service and would like to be
reimbursed for accrued expenses, download and complete the

Reimbursement PDF. |
