Kim Bomberger has been a District Community Forester for the Kansas Forest Service since March 2003. Her primary duties are to provide technical assistance, education and training to tree boards, city departments and other interested individuals who care for and manage the public tree resource in 28 counties of North Central and Northeast Kansas. Kim works with over 50 communities who participate in the Tree City USA program. She serves as liaison with the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE) and is the state coordinator for the Arbor Day Poster Contest. She is an advisor to the Heartland Tree Alliance in the metropolitan Kansas City area.

Kim previously worked in the horticultural industry in production and retail horticulture and has instructed at the community college level. She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Kansas State University and is a certified arborist through the Kansas Arborists Association and International Society of Arboriculture.
