Thad Rhodes has been the District Forester for North Central Kansas since November of 2001. He grew up in Argonia, KS and attended Kansas State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Park Resource Management, as well as a Secondary Major in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and a minor in Horticulture. Upon graduation in May 2000, Thad moved to Salem, Missouri to work for the U.S. Forest Service as part of the Forest Inventory Analysis (FIA) field crew.

As a forester for the Kansas Forest Service, Thad’s primary responsibilities are to provide technical assistance to rural landowners in his 15 county district. This involves designing tree and shrub plantings and assisting with woodlot management.
