Dr. Christy Miller Hesed
Dr. Miller Hesed is a Postdoctoral Associate in Environmental Anthropology at the University of Maryland. Her recent work has focused on facilitating the exchange and integration of different types of knowledge (such as scientific knowledge and experiential knowledge) to promote the development of locally-relevant climate change adaptation policies.
Doug Kluck is the Central Region Climate Services Director for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Doug's responsibilities include coordination, interpretation and information on climate service activities among federal, state, tribal, academics and private interests in the region. Engagement with the above mentioned groups for climate information, data, monitoring, directing research and education and outreach are all essential parts of his activities.
Dr. David J. Nowak
Dr. Nowak is a Senior Scientist and Team Leader with the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station in Syracuse, NY. His research investigates urban forest structure, health, and change, and its effect on human health and environmental quality. He has authored over 325 publications and leads teams developing the i-Tree software suite that quantifies the benefits and values from vegetation globally.
Eric J. Walberg manages the Climate Services program at Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences. Recent projects include the Climate Smart Land Network (over 13 million acres of forest land in North America) and development of climate change adaptation plans for multiple sites in New England.
