Kim Bomberger

Kim bombergerDistrict Community Forester - Northeast District

Kim Bomberger has been a District Community Forester for the Kansas Forest Service since March 2003. Her primary duties are to provide technical assistance, education and training to tree boards, city departments and other interested individuals who care for and manage the public tree resource in 28 counties of North Central and Northeast Kansas. She works with more than 50 communities who participate in the Tree City USA program and assists in local program development.

Kim is the Kansas forestry advisor to the Heartland Tree Alliance in the metropolitan Kansas City area, serves as liaison to the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE), and is coordinator for the Kansas Arbor Day Poster Contest.

Kim previously worked in production and retail horticultural and was an adjunct instructor for Butler County Community College. She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Horticulture and Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University and is a certified arborist through the Kansas Arborists Association
and International Society of Arboriculture.
