Luke

Fuels Specialist

Luke is the Fuels Specialist for KFS, responsible for implementing a statewide fuel management program in order to reduce the occurrence of catastrophic wildfires in Kansas. Luke is a resource for communities seeking assistance managing their fuels, from finances and education to planning and implementation. Luke works around the state to suppress active wildfires. Luke is currently based out of Topeka.

Luke has lived and worked in many areas of the state, from Syracuse to Atchison. He graduated from Kansas State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management. While at K-State he began his career with Custom Forestry Applications. After graduation, he worked for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks as the Assistant and Area Manager on 11,000 public acres at Melvern Wildlife Area. Luke enjoys spending time with my wife and two daughters, hunting, hiking and camping.
